Widnes Skip & Reclaim take in a lot of green biodegradable waste which is shredded and composted to produce composted soil improver. We are currently working towards the BSI PAS100 quality standard for our compost production.

Composting Process:

• Green biodegradable waste (grass, leaves, vegetation etc) is tipped and sorted. Non-biodegradable items are removed.
• The green waste is shredded and stacked into windrows where the composting process takes place. The windrows are turned regularly to ensure air is always present.
• The green waste remains in the windrows for at least 12 weeks. Whe the compost is ready is is screened to 20mm and is ready to be used in landscaping projects, agricultural use, allotments and gardens.

Our composted soil improver is available for sale in 25lt, 900lt, and bulk quantities.
